Network Conference

APRIL 14 - 16, 2024

RADIUS CHURCH: CASPER, WYOMING

Dear Ministry Family,

The theme for this year’s Conference is Collaboration. I love this word because it assumes a relationship. Philippians 2:2 states, “Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.” Unity, mutual love, and serving side by side capture this value well.

Our calling and mission should not be pursued alone. Failure to recognize the value of learning from and leaning upon other servants of God, leads to an agreement with the Psalmist, “Why are you cast down, O my soul?” Discouragement is a reality in ministry. Collaboration is a remedy.

Allow me to identify three action steps that you may want to practice:

  • Confess your limitations
  • Avoid comparisons
  • Develop friendships

It has taken time, but I have learned that I do not excel at many leadership skills. Additionally, I have addressed my insecurities that surface when interacting with other leaders. As I get older, the need for a few deep, life-giving friendships is more obvious.

One of our Network’s goals (with Kingdom Advancement) is to have 40 by 30. By the year 2030, there will be 40 healthy churches in Wyoming. Two significant factors are mandatory for this outcome. One, is the empowerment of God’s Spirit, and two, is simply collaboration. It will require the Lord’s intervention, and it will take all of us praying, investing, and pulling together. Will you please join me in this endeavor?

I cannot wait for you to sit under the ministry of Pastor Kevin Geer, our Keynote Speaker! I heard him at a CMN Conference last fall, and I know you will enjoy his combination of practical wisdom, humor, and inspiration. Kevin pastors a large church in Montana, however, has a history that includes rural, small church ministry in Washington.

This Conference concludes my 12th year as Sup’t. I prefer the title, Network pastor. Every year has been a privilege and honor to serve you and your churches. I can only attempt this assignment with the help of Coleen, Presbyters, and Ministry Directors. To them, I express my deepest appreciation.

Finally, thank you for your sacrifice and investment in the ministry of the local church. I love and respect each one of you!
